Jennifer Jennifer Houghton, BA, AFLCA
Certified Yoga Instructor

Jennifer is the director of Flowing Yogi Yoga Studio in Cochrane. As a yoga and fitness instructor with many years experience, her mission is to bring the benefits and joy of yoga and fitness to all.

She attained yoga instructor certification through Trinity/Gaiatri in Alberta. The Trinity/Gaiatri teacher training experience focused on growing, learning, and transformation. It involved the integration of a broad range of traditions while providing a well–rounded and creative approach to the practice and teaching of yoga. It allows students the opportunity to discover their own authentic way of teaching. This is a philosophy that Jennifer brings to her own instruction — allowing practitioners space for self–discovery and hearing their authentic source within.

She has taught yoga and fitness at some of Calgary's major centers including the Talisman Centre and Westside Rec. Formerly involved with the Get Ripped program, Jennifer has trained instructors, led workshops, and coached weight loss contestants. She was also involved in choreographing and producing four of the popular Get Ripped fitness videos which were filmed in Calgary.

Inspired by the beauty and dynamics of human movement she trained for 10 years in African, jazz, and modern dance. Through her background in fitness and dance, Jennifer brings special attention to safety, alignment, and practical techniques.

She loves to see people unwind, focus, concentrate, lighten up, relax, discover, move freely, and energize through yoga. Her approachable style makes yoga and fitness accessible and fun for all levels from beginners to more advanced students.
